Norwegian Luna Solo Studio Review: Why Cabin 12567 is a Game-Changer

When the Norwegian Luna officially joined the NCL fleet, the biggest question for solo travelers wasn’t just about the new “LunaTique” show or the Slidecoaster—it was about the Category 1T Studio Staterooms. At 94 square feet, these cabins are masterclasses in efficiency, but as a professional travel advisor, I know that location is what truly defines your experience.

I recently stayed in Cabin 12567, and it offered a unique perspective on the “Solo Sanctuary” concept that I need to share with anyone planning a 2026 or 2027 sailing.

The “Boundary Room” Advantage

Cabin 12567 is the very first room you encounter when entering the private Studio complex on Deck 12. For many, the “first room” implies noise, but for me, it was a revelation in proximity and convenience.

Why I Loved This Specific Location:

  • The 10-Second Commut: You are mere steps away from the Studio Lounge. If you value a quick morning espresso or a quiet place to work with your gear, this is arguably the best-positioned room on the ship.
  • The Sanctuary Feel: Despite the 94-square-foot footprint, the smart LED lighting and vertical storage made it feel less like a “closet” and more like a high-tech retreat.
  • Logistical Flow: Being near the entrance means you aren’t navigating long, narrow corridors with your luggage (like my Kenneth Cole hard case) every time you return to the ship.

Advisor’s Insight: If you are a light sleeper, the proximity to the heavy keycard-access door is something to consider. However, for the active cruiser who values the Lounge as their “extended living room,” the tradeoff is 100% worth it.

Is the Solo Studio Right for Your Next Sailing?

Choosing between a Solo Studio (1T), a Solo Inside (IT), or a Solo Balcony (BT) depends on your itinerary length and your personal travel style. While I found the Studio to be a brilliant “Sanctuary” for this trip, there are specific factors—like the lack of an in-room fridge—that might sway your decision for a longer 7-night sailing.

The “Extended Living Room” Effect: The Studio Lounge

One of the biggest perks of booking a Category 1T Studio is the exclusive keycard access to the Studio Lounge. In the video, I take you inside this private sanctuary on Decks 12 & 13, and it’s a total game-changer for the solo experience.

  • Your Morning Hub: Because Cabin 12567 is the “gatekeeper” room, I was less than 20 steps away from the professional espresso machine every morning.
  • Social vs. Solitude: The Lounge provides that crucial “third space.” When 94 square feet starts to feel cozy, you have a high-design, multi-level lounge to spread out, grab a snack, or meet fellow solo travelers.
  • The “Lounge Commute” Win: Most guests have to trek down long corridors to reach the snacks and coffee. From my door in 12567, it felt like having a private butler’s pantry right outside my room.

Advisor’s Insight: Don’t view the Studio as just a bedroom. View the Studio Lounge as your actual living room. On the Norwegian Luna, this space is more refined and “Whimsical” than ever, providing the perfect balance to the efficiency of the cabin itself.
