Disney Wish Food Tour: Every Restaurant, Island Meal & My Top Picks

Food from our Disney Wish cruise, from breakfast to dinner

Here’s my Disney Wish food tour: everything we ate, and what stood out.

On our recent sailing, we ate our way through the ship’s rotational dining restaurants, the casual spots, Palo Steakhouse, and both of Disney’s private island destinations. Here’s a quick look at what we ate and what stood out. For the full dish-by-dish walkthrough, watch the video.

Breakfast and Casual Bites

Breakfast at Marceline Market is best early. Generally, we arrived between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m., and I’d aim to eat before 9:00, when it’s easier to find a table. Of course, I always grab the Mickey-shaped churro waffles, plus a custom egg-white omelet and the hash browns.

For casual food, Festival of Foods was our go-to by the pool. Honestly, the barbecue here is a highlight for me, and I prefer it to the quick-service food on the Dream- and Magic-class ships.

Skip the Buffet on Embarkation Day

Instead of heading straight to the crowded buffet, try lunch at Arendelle. I started with the beef empanadas and tried the muffuletta, which might just be my new favorite embarkation-day dish. And as always the carrot cake was a great way to finish.

Rotational Dining: 1923, Arendelle, and Worlds of Marvel

First off, 1923 celebrates the golden age of animation. My standouts were the porcini-spiced ahi tuna and the grilled sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce.

At Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure. The Kjottkake, the Norwegian-style braised meatballs, is a dish I’d happily order again. Later that evening, West said the beignets at The Bayou were “the best beignet I’ve ever had. Better than the parks.”

Finally, Worlds of Marvel, where we had the Pirate Night menu. It isn’t my favorite menu, but the cornbread and Indian vegetable samosas are always worth looking forward to.

Palo Steakhouse

Palo is an additional-cost dining experience, but for me it’s well worth considering. The bread service and starters are always wonderful, and the six-ounce grilled choice Angus beef tenderloin was excellent. Especially meaningful, we celebrated West’s high school graduation here, and the cast members surprised her with a dessert message.

Lunch on Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay

You don’t have to head back to the ship to eat. On Castaway Cay, we had lunch at Hangar 98 BBQ in Serenity Bay, the adults-only beach, and the spicy chicken sandwich is a favorite. On Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, the buffet had chicken sandwiches as well, barbecue ribs, fries, and mac & cheese.

My Top Picks on the Disney Wish

Yes, I’m saving my top picks for the end of the video, including my number one dish. Watch to the finish to see where it landed and leave me a comment at YouTube.
